About 8 Days Kilimanjaro Climb Lemosho Route:
The Kilimanjaro Lemosho Route Is An Unspoilt, Remote, Less-Used And Beautiful Way Up To The Shira Plateau. Trekkers Sometimes Use It To Ascend The Western Breach Route, Or Follow It With The Kibo South Circuit To Ascend By The Easier Barafu Route. The First Day Of The Route Is Rich In Game Animals, And Armed Rangers May Accompany A Group Temporarily.
Your adventure begins with a scenic drive to Londorossi Gate for registration. From here, continue to the trailhead and hike through dense rainforest filled with wildlife and exotic plants.
Leave the forest behind and enter the heather and moorland zone. Enjoy sweeping views as you ascend along the Shira Ridge.
A gentle acclimatization day across the Shira Plateau, one of the highest plateaus on earth, with incredible views of Kilimanjaro’s peaks.
Climb to Lava Tower (4,650m) for acclimatization, then descend into the scenic Barranco Valley, famous for its giant senecio plants.
Start your day with the exciting climb of the Barranco Wall, followed by a trek through valleys and ridges to Karanga Camp.
Ascend to Barafu Camp, your base for the summit attempt. Rest early and prepare for the midnight climb.
Begin your summit push around midnight. Reach Stella Point, then continue to Uhuru Peak. After celebrating, descend to Mweka Camp.
Descend through lush rainforest to Mweka Gate, receive your summit certificate, and transfer back to your hotel.
*This route can also be done over an 8 or 9 day period. We will always endeavour to get you to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro, however the longer the climb the more chances you have of a successful summit. Just let us know what your preference is and we’ll be happy to provide you with a specified itinerary.
*Term; Hike high, sleep low: This means that you should take day hikes that gain significant altitude and then return to lower altitudes to sleep so that one can recuperate.
